Liverpool's transfer window could be a slow burner, or so sporting director Richard Hughes appeared to suggest at Arne Slot's first press conference. He referenced the various international tournaments, as well as the passing of the June 30 PSR 'mini-deadline' — but things could soon spark into life in spectacular fashion .

Links to Anthony Gordon are not going away, in what would be an eye-catching piece of business. But one report has gone even bigger than a multi-million dollar deal for a former Everton man.

It's been claimed that the Reds could be lining up a triple raid running into the hundreds of millions. That would certainly start the Slot era with a bang.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We've got more details on that report, as well as confirmation that one contract offer from the club has been rejected.

Joao Neves, Orkun Kokcu and Andreas Schjelderup (Benfica)

Slot could begin his tenure with a remarkable triple raid on Benfica. That's per The Hard Tackle , citing the print edition of Portuguese outlet O Jogo .

Links to Joao Neves have been circulating for a while. The holding midfielder reportedly has a release clause of $129m (£101m/€119m), but the 19-year-old is considered one of the top talents in that position.

Meanwhile, Liverpool also reportedly holds an interest in Orkun Kokcu. The Turkish international played under Slot at Feyenoord, but remarkably has an even higher buyout clause than Neves.

Completing the trio of links is Andreas Schjelderup. Liverpool has been linked to the Norwegian winger in the past, and he claims he turned down a move as a 16-year-old .

He has a significant release clause too. Between them, they would cost a shade over $400m if their clauses were all to be triggered.

Whether Liverpool could strike a deal below those marks is unclear. But presumably they would need to do so in order for the incredible triple raid to go ahead.

Liverpool.com says: We can probably safely assume that Liverpool won't be going out and handing Benfica a sack filled with $400m. But that doesn't necessarily mean there's no substance to the links.

Liverpool offered around the value of Neves' release clause last summer for Moises Caicedo. If it feels the Benfica man has the same potential to be the long-term holder of that crucial position, then you never know what might happen.

The other clauses surely would not be met. But Slot may well want to work with Kocku again, and Schjelderup has been on the radar for some time.

    Adrian (Real Betis)

Adrian has confirmed he will be leaving Liverpool. He is now expected to join Real Betis.

Liverpool had previously made clear in its retained list that a new contract had been offered to the veteran goalkeeper. But Adrian has rejected fresh terms in favor of a return to his old club.

He sent a long message to Liverpool fans where he said that playing at Anfield should be named as one of the wonders of the world. And he will leave with fond memories, having been the hero in the Super Cup in 2019.

Interestingly, per The Athletic , Vitezslav Jaros will step up into a role with the Liverpool squad. He spent part of last season on loan at Sturm Graz.

Liverpool.com says: All the best to Adrian. It's been a few seasons since Liverpool would have been truly comfortable to see him playing, but by all accounts he has been a popular figure behind the scenes.

On a free transfer, it was certainly good business. But his departure now frees up a non-homegrown slot.
