Popular K-drama The Auditors aired episode 2 on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN. The series follows the story of a group of auditors at construction company JU. Leader Shin Cha-Il (Shin Ha-Kyun) joins JU Construction to discover fraud within the company. Meanwhile, rookie employees Gu Han-Soo (Lee Jung-Ha) and Yoon Seo-Jin (Jo Aram) help him in this endeavor amidst a power struggle within the conglomerate.

Episode 2 of The Auditors saw leader Shin Cha-Il and rookie employee Gu Han-Soo’s first collaboration to catch the culprit of the tower crane incident. Through the audit, the duo and the audit team held executive director Seo Gil-Pyo responsible for his actions. While the audit ended successfully, new secrets emerged that anticipate more drama in the upcoming episodes.

    The Auditors episode 2 spoilers

The Auditors episode 2 began with Shin Cha-Il meeting the vice president of JU Construction for the first time. The latter decided to remove the audit team leader and bury the crane tower incident. However, Cha-Il remained determined to punish the perpetrators behind the issue.

Shin Cha-Il begins the audit process

The same morning, Gu Han-Soo discovered that field director Bae Young-Sik had disappeared from the hospital. During their audit meeting, Cha-Il noticed bloodstains on the driver’s seat of the one monitoring the tower crane. This meant that the driver had not just broken one leg but suffered a rather serious injury, so they began looking for Young-Sik.

Cha-Il then revealed that he had decided to transfer Han-Soo to another team after this audit, asking the latter to do his best one final time. On the other hand, Seo Gil-Pyo and his aides wondered about the stolen laptop that had evidence of their embezzlement. Later, Cha-Il and Han-Soo interviewed the driver who broke his leg while monitoring the crane.

After the interview, Cha-Il understood that Choi wasn’t the original driver, as the latter lied about the cause of the crane’s breakdown. Han-Soo visited Young-Sik’s daughter, who informed him about her pregnancy, but after discovering her father’s disappearance, she grew worried.

    Gu Han-Soo discovers the truth

Gu Han-Soo had the stolen laptop all along. He thought of handing it over and getting transferred to a company abroad. However, he discovered that the tower crane’s contract had issues. Han-Soo returned to the office with the laptop, where he crossed paths with Vice President Hwang Dae-Woong (Jin Goo). When Han-Soo placed the laptop on Cha-Il’s desk, Dae-Woong took it from him.

Cha-Il caught Dae-Woong with the laptop, but the latter blackmailed the audit leader and burnt the device. Cha-Il visited the accident site the following day and recorded evidence from the nearby CCTV cameras. During his hospital visit to check the cameras and find any evidence of Young-Sik’s actions, he met CEO Hwang Se-Woong. The latter introduced Cha-Il to his elder brother and former CEO, who was in a coma due to an accident.

Cha-Il monitored the hospital CCTV cameras and found clues about Young-Sik’s whereabouts. Back at the audit office, Yoon Seo-Jin noted discrepancies in Young-Sik’s actions. Cha-Il called her and asked to send him Ahn Byoung-Jin’s address. Meanwhile, Han-Soo also decided to visit the worker. He met with Cha-Il as they proceeded to find Young-Sik.

    Shin Cha-Il and Gu Han-Soo find Young-Sik

On their way to find Young-Sik, Cha-Il informed Han-Soo of his findings. He revealed that Bae Young-Sik changed the driver’s identity from Byoung-Jin to Mr. Choi to escape being responsible. While Cha-Il suspected Young-Sik of throwing Byoung-Jin into a reservoir, Han-Soo requested Cha-Il to give Young-Sik a final chance. The duo found him in a nearby hospital with the original driver, Byoung-Jin, still alive but critical.

After Han-Soo told Young-Sik about his daughter, the field director revealed the truth. He talked about changing the driver’s identity but also changing his mind about killing Byoung-Jin. Young-Sik further stated that executive director Seo Gil-Pyo ordered him to kill the driver and even paid him money. The police arrested Young-Sik and transferred Byoung-Jin to a bigger hospital for treatment.

The Audit Episode 2: What happens at the end?

Shin Cha-Il & Gu Han-Soo collaborate to reveal the truth

Shin Cha-Il ordered a special audit to punish executive director Seo Gil-Pyo. Meanwhile, Han-Soo told Cha-Il that the president of Myeong Tower, who was contracted to do the construction, agreed to testify against Gil-Pyo. At the special audit, the president took back his words, which made it difficult for Cha-Il to expose Gil-Pyo.

However, Cha-Il knew that the president wouldn’t testify because of his connections with Gil-Pyo. He had asked Han-Soo to find an alternative and the latter did. Han-Soo received the black box audio of Young-Sik’s conversation with Gil-Pyo, where the latter ordered Young-Sik to kill Byoung-Jin. They also found evidence of Gil-Pyo’s embezzlement, thereby exposing him.

By the end of the episode, it was revealed that Yoon Seo-Jin was the daughter of Vice President Hwang Dae-Woong. The episode ended with the audit team facing a new problem with protests against a union leader.

Don’t forget to watch The Auditors Episodes 3 and 4 on Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN and later on Viki.
