Outfielder Matt Wallner was called up from Triple-A in the corresponding move, and Wallner was in the lineup Sunday as Minnesota’s starting left fielder.

Mitch Haniger hit a three-run home run in the eighth, and Luke Raley hit a solo home run in the ninth to score 5-4. Thankfully, we got out with a win, cashing our +105 ML ticket.

Shildt noted that Darvish is stepping away from the team while he deals with “a personal matter involving his family.” The issue does not have to do with anything physical, and Shildt did not comment on the veteran’s timeline for return to the club.
