    Genealogy: U.S. Census Documents will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, at the Northern Senior Activity Center. Family heritage enthusiast Louise McDonald will provide an overview of the unique aspects of U.S. Census Bureau data, plus important things to be aware of when using their database.     Coffee with the Sheriff will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Talk to Sheriff Steve Hall about concerns and learn more about the community. Registration required. Contact Sarah Miller at 301-475-4200, Ext. 1073, or Sarah.Miller@stmaryscountymd.gov.

    A bereavement support group will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Share grief experiences and learn new ways to cope while meeting friends. The group meets on the third Thursday of each month. Facilitated by Hospice of St. Mary’s Bereavement Coordinator Dr. Patricia Watson. Drop-ins welcome.

    Loffler Appreciation Day will be held all day Friday, July 19. Live music by the center’s Loffler Sunshine Singers and local band Folk Salad, face painting, cornhole, classic cars and line dancing. St. Mary’s County Government agencies will be ion hand and the Salted Scoop ice cream truck will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m.

    Zumba Gold will be held 12:30 p.m. Mondays at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Enjoy an aerobic dance class using music with a Latin beat. Fitness Card required.

    Geri-fit will be held 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through July at Loffler Senior Activity Center. Geri-fit is an evidence-based health program and chronic disease self-management support program. Geri-fit uses a set of light dumbbells, a sturdy chair, a stretch band, and water to drink during the workout. Fitness equipment is supplied.

    Massage therapy will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at the Loffler Senior Activity Center. Renika Watson is a licensed massage therapist and owner of Renika Marie’s Therapeutic Massage with specialty in Swedish and deep tissue massage. Registration required.     A diabetes and nutrition class will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at North Beach Senior Center. The center’s resident dietician will discuss practical tips and help participants gain an understanding when it comes to proper nutrition with Type-II diabetes.

    Project Linus will meet 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Calvert Pines Senior Center. Project Linus creates and donates blankets to children in need. Knitters, sewers, and crocheters are welcome. This program meets at Calvert Pines on the third Friday of the month. Call 410-535-4606.

    Walk with Others will be held 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Southern Pines Senior Centers. Stroll along the walking path. Event will be canceled in case of inclement or very humid weather. Call 410-586-2749.

    Meet with a pharmacist will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 25, at North Beach Senior Center to review your medications and supplements to ensure they work as intended. Call 410-257-2549 to make your free appointment. Appointments are available from 9-11 a.m.

    Lunch is served at noon Monday through Friday at each senior center. Menus include lemon glazed chicken, beef tips and cheese ravioli. Contact the center you would like to dine at at least 24 hours in advance.
