Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has sent a classy message to Liverpool ace Trent Alexander-Arnold following the win against Switzerland at Euro 2024. The Reds defender scored the winning penalty in the quarter-final shoot-out to send the Three Lions into the semi-finals.

It looked as if Gareth Southgate's side would be crashing out of the tournament in Germany following a disappointing performance in Dusseldorf after Breel Embolo fired Switzerland ahead with just 15 minutes to go. This was until Arsenal's Bukayo Saka stepped up with a moment of brilliance shortly after going behind, curling his effort past Yann Sommer and into the bottom left corner.

The scoreline remained at 1-1 throughout extra time with the game set to be decided by penalties. Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji's opening effort to start the shoot-out before all five England stars scored from the spot to book themselves a place in the semi-finals against the Netherlands on Wednesday.

It was Alexander-Arnold's emphatic strike that sealed the deal for England, with the Liverpool star taking to his personal Instagram account after the game to share his joy at the moment. After posting a picture of himself taking the spot kick, he captioned it: "Pressure makes diamonds."

Bellingham has since commented on the post, which tells you all you need to know about the England star and his relationship with Alexander-Arnold, as he replied: "Your moment!"

The pair have regularly been pictured together in the England camp and celebrated Bellingham's opening goal of the tournament against Serbia with a unique celebration in Gelsenkirchen. Bellingham also rushed to the defence of his friend in recent weeks, after Alexander-Arnold received criticism following his performances in a midfield role under Southgate.

"He makes it so easy for me because he can control the game so well defensively in that position," Bellingham told ITV Sport . "I know people talk a lot of rubbish but he's so aggressive with that back-to-goal pressure and it really helped me as well because it meant I got a breather when he went out.

'"I think we understand each other well with the ball, he wants to play positive all the time, he wants to play forward all the time."

Liverpool.com says: For Liverpool fans, seeing the relationship that has blossomed between Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham is a major case of 'what could've been' in red. Before joining Los Blancos last summer, Bellingham was heavily linked with a move to Anfield, but it never materialised. Now, the Reds fanbase might be stressing over the possibility of their vice-captain linking up with Bellingham in Madrid, after links to Alexander-Arnold and the Bernabeu Stadium emerged in recent months.
