    Bruce Willis' wife reveals one thing helping her amid husband's dementia decline

    Emma Heming Willis has admitted gardening has become a "form of meditation" for her after her husband Bruce Willis was diagnosed with dementia.

    The actor's health struggles were first made public in 2022, when his family revealed he had been suffering from a language disorder known as aphasia. He was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) a year later.

    Now, Emma has taken to Instagram to ask fans for tips as she revealed she has been using gardening to help her cope. Sharing a video of herself tending to her plants, Emma wrote: "I can't say that I have the greenest of thumbs. But I will say that over the past few years gardening has been a form a meditation for me.

    "It's gets me out of the house, moving and I have really enjoyed the process of learning something new Please drop me a helpful basic gardening tip in the comments below if you so choose!"

    In the video, Emma added: "Everyone was very concerned about why we don't have a gardener. We do have a gardener, this is jut the area that I like to keep for myself.

    "Obviously I've done a terrible job with maintaining it, but better late than never." Fans were very supportive of Emma's hobby and offered their words of advice in the comments.

    One person wrote: "I'll suggest planting some natives there Emma. Easy to maintain and absolute friends of nature," while another suggested: "Mint and rosemary will take over. Grow them in a planter."

    "I love gardening! It’s so therapeutic. I weed and deadhead and prune and water. Little bit at a time," a third fan added. Someone else said: "Just continue to putter about…it’s therapy without trying. Oh and you can hardly ever over water…just keep your plant babies hydrated!"

    Emma has been caring for Bruce ever since he was diagnosed with FTD and has been very vocal in raising awareness for the disease. FTD can cause a number of symptoms including unusual behaviors, emotional problems, trouble communicating, difficulty with work, or difficulty with walking, according to The National Institute on Aging.
