Terrorizing Teen Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Florida Deputy

Lehigh Acres, FL - A teenage girl has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a Southwest Florida deputy during a violent encounter last week.

The incident began when deputies responded to a reported theft on the 1600 block of Irene Avenue South in Lehigh Acres.

Authorities identified a suspect, 15-year-old Ciara Taylor, who reportedly fled the scene on foot.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office (LCSO), a deputy located Taylor in the vicinity of Irene Avenue South and 18th Street Southwest.

The arrest report states Taylor failed to comply with the deputy's orders to stop.

LCSO officials allege that during an attempt to detain Taylor, she became physically aggressive, kicking the deputy in the knee and striking him in the face.

A struggle ensued, with both parties sustaining injuries.

Taylor's arrest report states that the deputy deployed his taser twice to subdue her before placing the teen under arrest.

She was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and transported to the Lee County Jail.
