(Oklahoma City )- In the early hours of Sunday morning, July 7th, a notable incident unfolded at the District Hotel and Resort, involving a guest of the establishment as the unfortunate victim. The individuals responsible for the violent act are known to the community. Authorities are now appealing to the public for any relevant information that could aid in apprehending the suspected perpetrators of this incident.

Witnesses reported that the guest appeared intoxicated, and the attackers had been seen entering her room earlier in the evening. The woman's acquaintance informed the men that it was time to depart, as she intended to assist the guest in retiring for the night. At approximately 10:40 PM, the acquaintance ensured the guest was settled in bed. Upon the acquaintance's departure from the room, the guest was asleep, and the curtains were drawn as she exited.

The victim's friend Katherine Taylor was unaware that the individuals had taken the victim's room key and were interrupted in their intentions by her presence. Later, the perpetrators returned, assuming the victim was alone and in a vulnerable position. An acquaintance observed the assailants lingering outside the room—Jay Cox stood near the exit while Tanner Mahseet firmly held the door closed to prevent the victim from leaving. The men quickly departed when the victim's friend approached the room. Katherin Taylor identified the two men.

When the friend of the victim arrived at the room, they were met with a scene of disorder, marked by shattered glass strewn across the floor. The friend expressed the overwhelming impact of the situation as "traumatic." Presently, the suspects, identified as Jay Cox and Tanner Mahseet, are not in custody. Fortunately, the victim is currently alive and on the path to recovery.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is currently looking for the suspects. District Hotel has video footage capturing the incident, and the property owners and local community members recognize the individuals suspected of committing the offense. If you possess any relevant details regarding these suspects, kindly reach out to the Hotel management or contact the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The property has implemented more than 60 High-definition cameras to bolster safety measures for its guests. The recent management transition seems to signal a heightened focus on patron safety and a lower tolerance for criminal activities jeopardizing guests' well-being, says Steve Blundell

The District Hotel Issued this statement on their Facebook page our valued guests, friends, employees and community allies:On Sunday morning, July 7, a guest was attacked by two known assailants. We have provided all security footage and records of the incident to the authorities to assist in their investigation to ensure justice for the victim.Violent behavior is not tolerated or brushed aside on our property, ever. It goes against the core of who we are. Over the past year, our business has seen significant positive growth. During this time, we have dramatically enhanced our security force and surveillance technology and will continue to make improvements as we grow.
