Since the first preview of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Joker: Folie à Deux landed at CinemaCon in April, there has scarcely been little more information teased about the anticipated sequel to Todd Phillps' billion-dollar-grossing movie.
But now casting director extraordinaire Francine Maisler has given us something new to ponder in a new interview where she tells Deadline a little more about Lady Gaga's performance as iconic character Harley Quinn.
"She's so good in it," Maisler told the publication.
Maisler did not work on the first film, Joker . Shayna Markowitz was responsible for the original cast, but Maisler partnered with Firat Averbek for casting on Joker: Folie à Deux .

"[Lady Gaga's] going to blow your mind," Maisler said. "I didn't suggest [her]. It wasn't my idea. That was Todd Phillips, before me. But I will tell you, she's really surprising — and really good."
This isn't Gaga's first rodeo. The pop star made her acting debut in 2013 in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills before going on to star in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For , American Horror Story and then making her breakout as an actor in Bradley Cooper's A Star is Born , which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role and won her an Oscar for Best Original Song.
Francine Maisler said she "was really surprised" seeing Lady Gaga's work for Joker: Folie à Deux . "I mean, we all knew what she could do in A Star is Born ," Maisler continued, "but I thought, 'Oh, well, that's kind of in her wheelhouse.' Something she could do and just be real. But this… Man, she's good ."

Lady Gaga will star opposite Joaquin Phoenix, who returns to reprise his role of Arthur Fleck/Joker.
"Joaquin blows your mind, but that [Lady Gaga] could keep up with him, and be real — and not just wiped off the screen by what that role is and what the performance is — shows she's good," Maisler said.
Joker: Folie à Deux hits theaters on October 4.
