Formula 1 has unveiled the trailer for its eagerly awaited self-titled film featuring Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt . The movie, set to premiere in summer 2025, follows the journey of Pitt's character, Sonny Hayes, a retired driver who steps back into the game to mentor a young up-and-comer.

The trailer was strategically dropped on F1's X account by Apple and Warner Bros. Pictures just half an hour before the British Grand Prix kicked off on Sunday.

This clever timing not only added an extra layer of excitement to the race but also ensured maximum exposure across the sport's dedicated fanbase.

In the trailer, we meet Pitt's character, Hayes, a man hell-bent on finding ways to make his team's car faster, even if it means prioritizing victory over safety. The clip is packed with adrenaline-fueled racing scenes featuring Pitt at the helm, perfectly capturing the high-stakes drama and intensity that Formula 1 is known for.

The trailer reaches a climax with a heart-stopping moment where Hayes must make a crucial decision: to overtake another driver and risk everything or maintain his position and play it safe. F1 spared no expense with brand licensing for the film, with big names like Mercedes, McLaren, Red Bull, and Ferrari all getting a mention.

In addition to Brad Pitt, the film boasts an impressive lineup with "Snowfall" standout Damson Idris and Oscar recipient Javier Bardem. The skilled Joseph Kosinski helmed the project, famously known for his directorial efforts on "Top Gun: Maverick," "Tron: Legacy," and Lady Gaga's 2022 banger "Hold My Hand,", where he also directed the music video.

Pitt made his second appearance at the British Grand Prix, shooting scenes for the movie. His stint caused quite a stir since was seen carrying out a faux interview, playing up his character's victory while standing behind drivers who had genuinely lost.

This interference in the post-race atmosphere stirred up bewilderment among fans and racers alike, effectively erasing the line between reel and real life. Internet videos showcased Pitt surprisingly popping up in the backdrop of interviews with drivers Lando Norris, third-place finisher, Fernando Alonso, and Sergio Perez.

A memorable snippet that tickled viewers showed Alonso double-guessing when he noticed it was Pitt walking behind him, triggering amusement at the puzzling scenario. A fan amusingly noted, "Some of the drivers are having the worst day of their lives while Brad Pitt and Damson Idris are giving their fake interviews."

One spectator humorously shared, "I just know that if these scenes make the final cut, I will get stared at for laughing in the cinema."

Meanwhile on the track, F1 racer Lewis Hamilton clinched an emotional victory at Silverstone in front of Hollywood star, pipping Max Verstappen to the post by a hair's breadth of 1.4 seconds. Racers and spectators alike were visibly moved as Hamilton broke his daunting 945-day dry spell without a win.
