Kanawha County Heat Advisory issued for Monday

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Kanawha County area for the afternoon and evening periods on Monday.

The advisory has been issued for the period beginning at 12:00pm and ending at 8:00pm, with heat index values expected to be at or around 100.

Residents and those navigating the area in question on Monday have been advised to avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.

Additionally, individuals have been urged to be vigilant about maintaining adequate hydration and utilizing air-conditioned indoor areas as much as possible while the advisory is in effect.

The advisory comes in the wake of an extreme heat wave which has impacted areas throughout the state of West Virginia for several weeks, with extreme temperatures closing out the month of June and spilling over into the month of July.
