The Morning Show recently kicked off production on its forthcoming Season 4, and star/executive producer Jennifer Aniston marked the occasion by sharing a behind-the-scenes photo. In the shot, she and fellow star/EP Reese Witherspoon, as well as returning castmember Tig Notaro, hold their name cards from what looks like a table read.
“Let @TheMorningShow season 4 games begin,” Aniston wrote in the Instagram caption. “Here we come!”
The second photo in the post reveals that the Season 4 premiere is titled “My Roman Empire.” The episode was written by co-EP Zander Lehmann and showrunner/EP Charlotte Stoudt and will be directed by EP Mimi Leder.
Apple TV+ renewed The Morning Show for Season 4 in April 2023. Season 3, which aired September through November of 2023, found Elon Musk-like tech giant Paul Marks (played by Mad Men ‘s Jon Hamm) poised to buy the financially struggling UBA network. He and Aniston’s Alex dated over the course of the season, but she eventually broke up with him after learning about his questionable business practices, such as spying on UBA employees. There’s been no official word on whether Hamm will be part of the upcoming season; Notaro, who clearly will be in the new episodes, played Paul’s assistant, Amanda.
At the end of Season 3, Alex pitched a potential partnership between UBA and its longtime rival network, NBN. Menawhile, Witherspoon’s Bradley confessed to destroying evidence of her brother rioting at the United States Capitol Building on Jan. 6, and turned herself in to federal authorities. The upcoming season — which does not yet have a release date — will feature some new faces among the cast, notably Jeremy Irons ( Watchmen ) as Alex’s father, Martin Levy; and Marion Cotillard as Celine Dumont, a “a savvy operator from a storied European family.” Julianna Margulies, who played Bradley’s love interest, Laura, will not be part of the show this season .
