“Why don’t you put our bed in the corner against the wall?” my son suggested when Loren and I moved into our home. Obviously, this man had forgotten other times long ago when making a bed was a challenge.

    My reply: “No!”

Making a bed. It looks great when you make it correctly. However, if you haven’t tucked a bottom sheet corner correctly or tucked the bottom of the top sheet around the mattress, you just might be wearing sheet-pajamas by morning.

Life is a bit like making a bed. All is good until a corner comes loose. Or, perhaps the sheet is tucked too short so you just can’t quite pull it up to your chin. Sometimes life comes up short.

Ever feel trapped against a wall?

These are the times to talk to someone and not do it alone. Perhaps professional help might be needed. We cannot solve one another’s problems, but we can lead someone to their help source. This is perhaps a weird analogy but fitting for this topic of being up against a wall.

That son of mine needed a new bed. Bunk beds seemed to be the way to go. Of course, he wanted to sleep on the top leaving the bottom for sleepovers. What a great idea!

Well, not if you have to make the darn thing. I’m not the tallest person in the world and balancing on the bottom bunk while lifting the mattress to fit the sheet onto it was a pain.

And, now this was the “once boy” telling me to put the bed in the corner where I will have to be on the bed to get the corners hooked and the top sheet tucked!

Ah, life is complicated. Sometimes as complicated as making a darn bed.
