Who is Tom Ackerley?
Tom was born in June 1990 in Surrey, England. Tom studied at Godalming College in the U.K. and later entered the film industry behind the scenes. IMDb describes Tom as a producer, second unit director, and assistant director. He began his career as a floor runner and set production assistant, before moving up to work as an assistant director. He has since been a producer and assistant director on films like 2020's Promising Young Woman, 2023's Barbie, and 2017's I, Tonya.
He started as an extra on Harry Potter
Tom got his start in the movie industry by working as an extra in the first three Harry Potter films. Margot has been known to be a diehard fan of the JK Rowling books and the movie franchise. The actress once talked about about her husband being in the films during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in 2020.
"My husband is in the Harry Potter movies. I know, I was like, 'Had you told me sooner we would've been married very quickly,''" the Wolf of Wall Street star said. Margot and Tom got married in a private ceremony on Australia's Gold Coast in December 2016 and were able to keep their marriage under wraps.
