PLAIN TWP. − With yet another Rite Aid closure on the horizon, Stark County will soon have about one-third of the stores it once did.
The store at 3030 Market Ave. NE in Plain Township is among 30 additional closures happening in Ohio and Michigan, according to a document filed Friday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. It's the 12th Rite Aid in Stark County to close since last fall.

Which Rite Aid stores are closing in Stark County?
Rite Aid has closed more than 500 stores nationwide amid decreasing sales, billions in debt and numerous lawsuits accusing the pharmacy chain of fueling the opioid epidemic. Rite Aid had more than 2,000 stores before filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October and is expected to emerge from bankruptcy in about a month with 1,300 remaining locations.

- 3030 Whipple Ave. NW in Plain Township
- 3720 Tuscarawas St. W in Canton
- 114 12th St. NE in Canton
- 227 Market Ave. N in Canton
- 304 E. State St. in Alliance
- 1895 W. State Street in Alliance
- 242 Lincoln Way W in Massillon
- 2110 Wales Ave. NE in Massillon
- 242 Lincoln Way W store in Perry Township
