    UPDATE @ 5:28 P.M.

A total of four people have been injured after an oil rig in Grady County caught fire on Friday afternoon.

Grady County Fire Chief Rodney Gregory says the fire began as an explosion at the rig, injuring four employees in the area.

The rig then reignited due to the heat of the equipment. News 4’s crews on the scene were able to capture moments from the flare up.

Gregory says crews have backed out of the area due to the risk of the oil derrick falling over and causing injuries. He also added that crews are expected to monitor the rig for days in case of potential flare ups.

The cause of the initial explosion is still under investigation.

    UPDATE @ 3:09 P.M.

According to the Chickasha Fire Department, at least one person was taken to the hospital as a result of the fire.
