THOUGHTS ON FREAKY FRIDAY: When asked where she was when she got the part, Curtis said, "I was in the middle of a book tour when my agent called. An actress had been involved in the movie and chose not to do it; I was a replacement part. That was Thursday. I read the script on Friday, flew home on Saturday, had my hair dyed red on Sunday, and was working Monday — with a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old at home, playing a 15-year-old. Had I had all the time in the world to prepare, I don’t think it would’ve been so good. I just had to be in my body. I was also newly sober and I was able to have a community within the movie-work world. That was a big deal for me ."

FUN FACT: The snapshots in the opening credits of the film are actually photos of Jamie Lee Curtis and her daughter Annie Guest .

Lindsay Lohan: Freaky Friday cast

CHARACTER PLAYED: Anna Coleman

PERSONAL: Lohan has been married to Bader Shammas since 2022. They have one child together.

THOUGHTS ON FREAKY FRIDAY: "As an 11-year-old, The Parent Trap [1998] felt so big to me. I threw myself into everything: accents, green screens, playing two people. So I felt comfortable after that. Freaky Friday felt different because I was going through all of the phases of a 16-year-old [but playing a character who was a year younger]. This was the era of Avril Lavigne and punk, and I wanted to experience it. We did white stripes in my hair. I put [the colorist] Tracy Cunningham through hell, because I took my nice red hair and just bleached it."

FUN FACT: Lohan only got the part after Michelle Trachtenberg dropped out. Ironically, the same thing also happened with The Parent Trap .

Chad Michael Murray

FUN FACT: When Tess — in Anna's body (Jamie Lee Curtis) asks Jake (Chad Michael Murray) for a ride home, the boom mic can be seen in the glass shield of Jake's helmet.

THOUGHTS ON FREAKY FRIDAY: Harmon basically predicted the Freaky Friday sequel, saying "I’ve known her [Jamie Lee Curtis] since she was 15, and if she’s talking about it, then it’ll [the sequel] happen, because all things happen ."

FUN FACT: Harmon and Jamie Lee Curtis co-starred again as lovers eight years later in the ninth season of NCIS (2011).
