ST. CLAIR SHORES (WWJ) -- A man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly crashing his boat into a Macomb County Sheriff patrol boat while under the influence.

Deputies say the incident happened on the evening of Friday, July 5 at Jefferson Beach Marina in St. Clair Shores.

Authorities already had another boat pulled over for a minor violation when they were struck by a 30′ Sea Ray Cabin Cruiser that entered the marina from the lake.

The Cabin Cruiser was moving slowly with no wake, but both vessels were damaged. The boat then proceeded to crash into the seawall before coming to a stop.

A video released by Macomb County Sheriff on X (formerly Twitter) shows the incident via one deputy’s body camera.

Following the collision, a 69-year-old man from Oak Park who was driving the offending boat was arrested after allegedly showing signs of alcohol impairment during field sobriety tests.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.
