VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County Fair is underway at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds and it provides an opportunity for 4-H members to show off their animals.

Amid hot temperatures this summer, 4-H members are making sure the animals stay cool by keeping them hydrated and washing them down in cool water. There are also fans throughout the barns.

“Our 4-h’ers are trained. They’ve been educated on how best to keep our animals cool, how to handle them so they’re prepared coming into fair week, and they’re all here to have a great time, and showcase all the work they put on all year long,” says Sara Haag, 4-H educator.

The Vigo County Fair kicks off with an event for its own

There are 4-H events throughout the week with one of their biggest events being the Round Robin Contest on Thursday night.

The Vigo County Fair runs through July 13. You can learn more about the fair here
