Over the weekend, Hulk Hogan's recently launched beer brand, Real American Beer, caught a large amount of flak on social media after a Black influencer took to TikTok to voice her belief that her work as an ambassador for the brand was cut short due to her race. A Real American Beer spokesperson contacted Bottle Raiders on Monday and denied the influencer's claim:
"We are deeply troubled by the false rumor circulating on social media that a brand ambassador hired by a third-party marketing agency was terminated by Hulk Hogan for racial reasons," the spokesperson said in an email. "Real American Beer simply terminated its short-term relationship with the third-party marketing agency. Hulk Hogan was not involved in that decision, and race was not a factor. "We are in communication with the agency in an attempt to clear the misunderstanding and incorrect information, and believe that this false statement will be withdrawn."

Racially Motivated or Coincidence? About the Allegations Made Against Real American Beer

The influencer, Essence Jenai, said Real American Beer had agreed to hire her for a week-long contract but ended it after only a day. She shared a text message in her video that said, "Essence. You didn't do anything wrong at all in fact, I'm sure you did great. But this client wants us to cancel the rest of the events this week. I'm really sorry!" According to the shared text message exchange, Jenai asked if she was being removed from the events or if they were being canceled altogether. The reply she received read: "All the rest of the events are canceled completely." Jenai also showed a picture of two white female influencers holding cans of the beer and claimed the picture of them was posted the day after her lone day working with the brand. "Idk why ... but these are the new brand ambassadors he hired," she wrote. Jenai also posted other photos displaying exclusively white brand ambassadors promoting Real American Beer. "I was told the events were being 'canceled completely,' but I see this the next day," she wrote. [botmc-promo]
