Martin County Fire Rescue crews were called at 3:30 p.m. to the crash, which happened in the area of Southeast Golf Trail by the Yacht & Country Club, according to Cory Pippin, Fire Rescue spokesperson.

The Florida Highway Patrol got to the scene just after 4 p.m.

The crash involved two pick-ups, Pippin said. The drivers of both vehicles sustained serious injuries and were flown by separate medical helicopters to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Pippin said.

The drivers were the only individuals in the vehicles, Pippin said.

No other information was immediately available.
