    Heat advisory issued for North Jersey until Wednesday

    North Jersey is already experiencing one of its hottest summers ever and the heat will not let up.

    The summer sun rages on as once again temperatures will reach the 90s early this week and National Weather Service announced a heat advisory for Northeast New Jersey that will last until Wednesday night at 8 p.m.

    A heat advisory is issued when heat and humidity make the atmosphere feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time, according to the NWS.

    The Metro New York areas is also experiencing a heat advisory, said the agency.

    The heat will reach its strongest between noon and 6 p.m. for both Tuesday and Wednesday. As residents are in for yet another brutally hot week, the NWS said that vulnerable populations such as the elderly are at an increased risk of heat-related illnesses . The agency advises people to stay in air conditioned rooms if possible.

    Heat index values may go as high as 102 in Bergen County on Tuesday. The high temperature is expected to be 93 degrees in Paramus and other neighboring towns.

    Bergenfield ties record

    Bergenfield tied a record of 94 degrees for this date that was set in 2014, North Jersey Weather Observers spokesman Bob J. Ziff stated.

    Other highs on Monday reported by the group were:

    • Paterson - 95
    • Sussex - 94
    • Vernon - 94
    • North Haledon - 93
    • Ramsey - 91

    Hurricane Beryl effects coming

    Humid conditions and Hurricane Beryl down in Texas may create heavy precipitation and thunderstorms here in New Jersey on Tuesday and Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are possible throughout the week, said the NWS. The weather agency said rain may occur on Tuesday afternoon with an increased chance of rainfall on Wednesday and later in the week.

    National Weather Service observes a chance of rain every day this week for Bergen County towns.
