    Excessive heat will continue in Merced through the week with highs exceeding 100 degrees

    The heat isn’t departing Merced County anytime soon, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees through the week, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford.

    An excessive heat warning still remains and has been extended through 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13.

    In July 1906, a record-high of 26 consecutive days of 100 degrees or higher were recorded in the county.

    On July 7, Merced broke the high temperature for the day with a reading of 110 degrees. The old mark was 109 degrees in 1921.

    On July 4, Merced tied its highest-recorded temperature on that date at 108 degrees.

    Temperatures in Merced:

    ▪ Today: High near 108 degrees; low around 70 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Tuesday July 9: High near 104 degrees; low around 68 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Wednesday July 10: High near 106 degrees; low around 73 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

    ▪ Thursday July 11: High near 111 degrees; low around 75 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.

    ▪ Friday July 12: High near 110 degrees; low around 73 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m.

    ▪ Saturday July 13: High near 106 degrees; low around 68 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    ▪ Sunday July 14: high near 100 degrees.

    ▪ Today: High near 107 degrees; low around 64 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between the hours of 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.

    ▪ Tuesday July 9: High near 104 degrees; low around 62 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    ▪ Wednesday July 10: High near 106 degrees; low around 69 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Thursday July 11: High near 111 degrees; low around 71 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Friday July 12: High near 109 degrees; low around 69 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Saturday July 13: High near 106 degrees; low around 64 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    ▪ Sunday July 14: High near 100 degrees.

    ▪ Today: High near 108 degrees; low around 68 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    ▪ Tuesday July 9: High near 104 degrees; low around 66 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

    ▪ Wednesday July 10: High near 108 degrees; low around 74 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Thursday July 11: High near 112 degrees; low around 74 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.

    ▪ Friday July 12: High near 109 degrees; low around 71 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

    ▪ Saturday July 13: High near 106 degrees; low around 65 degrees. Temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or more between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

    ▪ Sunday July 14: High near 100 degrees.

    In 2022 the highest temperature recorded in Merced County was 116 degrees in September.
