One of the greatest parts of having a dog is witnessing when they experience something for the first time. For two sweet pups named Lulu and TukTuk, it's moving from an apartment into a new home and finding out you get your very own yard!

The precious TikTok video posted on TikTok by @lulu_andtuktuk shows the moment the two dogs see their brand new backyard for the first time and it's too precious. As you'll see, they're truly the picture of joy.

Does Letting Your Dog Outside Qualify As Exercise?

For any dog that's been cooped up in an apartment that lacks an appropriate outdoor space to run in, a new house with a yard can be an amazing gift. However, when it comes to exercise, PetMD says walking is preferred to just letting your dog out in the backyard.

“The backyard is the safest option to let the dog run full tilt and burn off some steam, so both activities should be incorporated into a happy dog’s lifestyle,” Dr. Pam Reid, a certified applied animal behaviorist (CAAB) and vice president of the ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Behavior Team told PetMD .

If your dog is left only to explore the yard, they can become bored or frustrated, leading to unwanted behaviors like barking or attempted escapes. Likewise, they can become territorial and may feel less confident with new people or interactions whereas taking them for walks helps curb some of this and helps them become more socialized.

The bottom line is, outside time is important no matter how it happens, but walking provides more mental stimulation and socialization a fenced yard can't always supply. Plus, pups are happier going for walks , breathing in the world around them.

As for Lulu and TukTuk, we're so happy they get a new place to explore and room to grow and play!
