Upcoming lane closure Furys Ferry Road starts this week

Columbia County recently announced an upcoming lane closure lasting about two weeks on Furys Ferry Road associated with the ongoing road-widening project.

The lane closures will be between Evans to Locks Road and Anderson Circle from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through July 25.

The county said to expect delays and encouraged motorists to seek an alternate route if possible.

"Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected," the county wrote in a press release. "If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe."
