PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — There is a Heat Advisory from 11 am to 8 pm today for Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, and Stokes Counties.  Prepare for heat indices in the lower 100s for most of the afternoon.  Stay hydrated, take breaks, and seek shade if you must be outdoors.

The pressure cooker of summertime will push high temperatures to around 93° today and tomorrow, and humidity will make it feel like temperatures are in the lower-100’s.  Rain chances remain low, despite a cold front crossing the Piedmont late Wednesday.

Behind the cold front, a blast of drier air is forecast to arrive Thursday though high temperatures are expected to stay in the lower-90s.

The front is going to stall over eastern NC on Friday, and with the Triad to the west of that front, highs will temporarily dip into the mid-80s.  There will be a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

This weekend, the chance of rain drops to 20% and with partly cloudy skies, highs will heat back up.  Highs on Saturday will be near 90°, then mid-90s return on Sunday and Monday as skies become progressively clearer.
