After weeks of teasers and speculation, Quavo and Lana Del Rey have finally released their new song “Tough.” It comes with a music video, directed by the musicians and Wyatt Spain Winfrey, in which Quavo and Del Rey slow dance together while singing along to the song, play guitar on a cottage porch, and bask in the foliage of a rural landscape. Chicago indie-rock and folk musician Tasha has announced a new album. Her third LP is titled All This and So Much More and arrives September 20 via Bayonet. Today, she’s sharing the lead single “The Beginning,” which comes with a music video directed by none other than Tomberlin. In the clip, Tasha goes for a long walk across New York to buy flowers, sits in an empty skatepark, and explores public parks. Watch her slice-of-life video below.

Chvrches’ Iain Cook has made a new remix of the Cranberries’ 1993 single “Linger.” Listen to the new track below. According to a press release, Cook made his new track by deconstructing the original and reassembling it, keeping intact the vocal melody of the late singer Dolores O’Riordan. “When I got the stems, the first thing I did was listen to Dolores’ vocal tracks in isolation,” he explained. “Hearing those for the first time was magical; I was shocked by the intimacy and emotion in her performance. The first thing I did was to sit with the vocals on their own and rework the chords on piano. I often find that this is a great starting point with remixes as it helps you to shake off some associations that you have with the song, and this is a song which I’ve known and loved for over 30 years.”

The album, which is available August 23 via 4AD, has been remastered from the original tapes by the band’s Robin Guthrie. It is the first time the album will be available on vinyl since its release.

Kinky Friedman, the tongue-in-cheek humorist and alt-country musician of the Texas Jewboys, has died, bandmate Little Jewford confirmed to The New York Times. “Kinky Friedman stepped on a rainbow at his beloved Echo Hill surrounded by family & friends,” reads a statement posted to the late artist’s social media. “Kinkster endured tremendous pain & unthinkable loss in recent years but he never lost his fighting spirit and quick wit. In 2022, DaBaby was charged with felony battery and accused of sucker-punching a Los Angeles County rental property owner during an unauthorized music video shoot. The rapper has now agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor simple battery, TMZ reports and Pitchfork can confirm. As a result of the plea deal, DaBaby has also been sentenced to one day in a Los Angeles County jail (which he has served), given a year of probation, and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to the victim.
