Ruby came to the shelter as a stray, so not much is known about where she came from. She was likely an outdoor dog as being indoors seems very unfamiliar to her. Since she arrived, she has been timid and unsure of her surroundings. Despite that she has been so tolerant of all handling and cares. We don’t think she has a mean bone in her body and she has slowly warmed up to staff and loves to go on walks. Being outside seems to get her out of her shell and her tail wagging. She would love to be adopted into a home with another dog. She did well with the leash and crate testing part of her evaluation. Ruby is currently in foster and the foster reports she is doing great. She is not house trained so will need an adopter with the patience to teach her. She spends most of her time napping in the dog bed and has been overall an easy dog to handle. Gilbert is a 2-month-old kitten who came to the shelter with 20-plus other cats/kittens that were found abandoned in the woods. Gilbert had some upper respiratory issues and ear mites when he came in. He has come a long way! Gilbert is now a healthy, happy kitten ready for his new adventure! He is so loving and loves to be held. Do either of these pets sound perfect for you? Come and find out! All pets at Paws+Claws Rescue and Resort are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and dewormer. Cats are FIV/FeLV tested and dogs are heartworm tested.
