Carrollton’s city council will allocate $30,000 of federal funds toward building demolition projects.

Mayor Susan Bliss says the council agreed at last week’s meeting to use American Relief Plan Act funds for that purpose. She says the town is hoping to remove a pair of buildings.

Bliss says significant price shifts from last year are making it difficult to determine how many buildings they can deal with.

Also at last week’s meeting, the Carrollton City Council approved the use of Walnut Hills Park for a praise fest, set for Aug. 15th through 17th, and agreed to a proposal to repave portions of Ely Street where sewer lines were recently improved. The council also reviewed and accepted the town’s annual audit.
