Matthew McConaughey Shares Tear-Jerking Post In Honor Of Son Levi’s 16th Birthday

There are milestones in your child’s life that you’ll simply never be prepared for — not entirely, anyway. I can only imagine that the day they turn 16 is one of them. This can be seen in the way Matthew McConaughey gets emotional in the post he shared about his son, Levi. He is only one of the actor’s three children. The others, Vida and Livingston, are 14 and 11 years old, respectively.

To celebrate his eldest child’s milestone birthday, McConaughey took to social media to share the sweetest message. Rather than going with a simple photo or two and a caption, he went the extra mile with a video. In it, we see a slideshow of photos that feature Levi with loved ones. Although Levi is not quite ready to go out on his own yet, it certainly makes sense that McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey, are thinking about how close he is to adulthood. While Levi can always count on their support while they’re around, it’s so sweet to see them make sure he’s able to be independent, too.

“Be yourself. Know when to say yes. Know when to say no. Know when to say maybe,” McConaughey says . “See the good in everybody else but know that not everyone else is always paying attention.”
