Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's abrupt departure from a garden party at Buckingham Palace, held in honor of Prince Charles's 70th birthday, sparked a whirlwind of speculation among Royal enthusiasts. The event occurred in 2018, shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had exchanged vows in an opulent Royal wedding in Windsor.

Video footage from the celebration revealed the couple exiting the Royal gathering soon after Prince Harry shared a discreet conversation with his father. Royal pundit Lady Colin Campbell suggested that there was a palpable tension during the festivities , as Meghan reportedly felt "bored" and rumors circulated that they were escorted out of the party.

In her book " Meghan and Harry: The Real Story ", Lady Colin described how Harry and Meghan "plunged in, glad-handing those who had been selected for introductions. She charmed everyone," reports the Express .

"A mere fifteen minutes into the event, she turned to Harry and said, 'Harry, this is really boring. Let's leave. To his credit, he informed her that they would have to stay. 'But Harry,' she protested, 'this is so boring. We've done our bit. Everyone knows we've been here. Let's go. Harry insisted that they had to stay, and they moved on."

However, a professional lip reader has provided a different interpretation after analyzing the footage . According to the lip reader, who spoke to MailOnline, a staff member told Harry that he had been "called for."

Charles then told Harry: "We are going now, We have to leave", to which Harry responded: "You go ahead". The now-King remarked: "We will go now, see you later", to which Harry replied: "Yes, catch up after."

In the midst of their exchange, a Royal aide seems to inform Harry that his father wishes to speak with him. Subsequently, the Duke of Sussex moves aside and Charles discreetly communicates something to him, touching his son's arm during the conversation.

Harry acknowledges with a nod and a gesture forward, then gives Charles a pat on the back before rejoining Meghan. Camilla then approaches, bidding farewell to both Harry and Meghan with a kiss before she heads back to the gathering.
