BLACKPINK’s Jennie ‘Deeply Regrets’ Vaping Indoors

When fans spotted Jennie vaping indoors, the backlash was pretty swift. So swift, in fact, that BLACKPINK’s lead vocalist was forced to apologize. The 28-year-old was captured on video using a vape while getting her hair and makeup done in a vlog shared on her YouTube channel on July 2.

“We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable with Jennie’s actions in the content released on the 2nd,” the statement from OA Entertainment read, published on July 9 ( per People ). “ Jennie acknowledges and deeply regrets her mistake of vaping indoors and causing inconvenience to the staff. Jennie has personally apologized to all the staff on-site who may have been affected.”

The statement concluded, “We apologize to her fans who have been disappointed through this incident. We hope to prevent this from reoccurring in the future. Thank you.” The YouTube video, titled “A Moment in Capri with Jennie,” has since been edited to omit the vaping, but the unedited version is circulating on Twitter.

“she need to learn some manners who smoke indoors and that too when they are doing her makeup,” commented one fan on the video. “She still blowing smoke near their faces tho …?? Like,” another wrote. “Maybe if she blow the smoke to other direction and there’s no one there it’s fine. It’s become attention because she blow it whe the staff still working on her make up and coincidentally that women in front of her is go near her face to do her make up,” a third argued.

Not everyone thought it was such a huge deal, however. Some fans jumped to Jennie’s defense. “She is almost 30 she can choose what she wants to do and it’s not a crime,” wrote one. “People are acting as if Jennie is 10 years old that’s a grown women she can do whatever she wants. army’s are so embarrassing,” observed another.
