VDOT: Prepare for closure on Cardwell Road in Goochland

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close a section of Cardwell Road in Goochland County for a crossline pipe replacement project.

VDOT will close a section of Cardwell Road south of Sheppard Town Road for a crossline pipe replacement project on Thursday, July 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

According to VDOT, drivers should use the following detour routes:

Northbound traffic: Travel north on Cardwell Road, turn right on Broad Street Road, turn right on Shallow Well Road, right on Genito Road.

Southbound traffic: Travel south on Cardwell Road, turn left on Genito Road, left on Shallow Well Road, left on Broad Street Road.

Residents will still be able able to access their homes throughout the operation.
