Corvette Z06 Gets Defeated by GR Supra in Under 10 Seconds

The Maryland International Raceway recently hosted an exciting quarter-mile drag race event featuring some high-performance contenders. Among them, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 faced off against several formidable opponents, including the Toyota Supra GR, BMW M3, and BMW X3 M40i. In the first matchup, the Corvette Z06 went head-to-head with a BMW X3 M40i. The Z06 secured victory with a time of 11.26 seconds at 124.64 mph, while the BMW finished in 12.04 seconds at 115.98 mph. The X3 M40i, powered by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo straight-six engine producing 382 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, was no match for the Z06.

The next race saw the Z06 facing a BMW M3 sedan. Unfortunately, the Corvette driver hesitated at the start, giving the M3 a significant head start. The M3 crossed the finish line in 10.78 seconds at 137.51 mph, while the Z06 followed with a time of 11.68 seconds at 123.49 mph. The M3's impressive performance highlighted its 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liter straight-six engine.

The most surprising race of the day involved the Corvette Z06 and the Toyota Supra GR. The Supra, powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, managed a stunning 9.97-second run at 145.91 mph. In contrast, the Z06 finished in 11.12 seconds at 125.69 mph, showcasing the Supra's exceptional performance.

Finally, the Z06 took on the track solo, clocking a time of 11.41 seconds at 124.19 mph. Despite the solo run, the Corvette's performance remained impressive, though not quite enough to claim dominance over the day's competitors.
