The Shakur Stevenson next fight news should arrive soon, but until then we look at three potential opponents for his return to action and recap his latest victory in July.

Who will Shakur Stevenson’s next fight be against?

In July, the New Jersey native extended his undefeated record to 22-0 with a dominant win over Artem Harutyunyan as the silver medalist made easy work of his foe and maintained his place as one of the toughest puzzles to solve in the lightweight division.

With another win in the bag, his next fight likely will come against Gervonta Davis, George Kambosos Jr., or Keyshawn Davis.

    • Tank: There has been a lot of speculation of a potential bout between Davis and Stevenson. Especially since the New Jersey kid has been pushing for it. There is a lot of risk in the fight for “Tank,” however, if he wants to prove he is the best lightweight in the world, facing Stevenson before he hits his prime might be a smart decision.
    • Ferocious: Despite his recent loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko, Kambosos Jr. is still one of the biggest names in the division. The American has been looking for a big-name foe for the last few years and the Aussie’s status has slipped far in enough to where it is a sensible fight for both.
    • Businessman: Davis is the next big thing at lightweight, and if Stevenson is having trouble finding opponents, taking on the top-10 talent now before he gets more experience under his belt would be a smart strategy.

Shakur Stevenson vs. Artem Harutyunyan recap

Shakur Stevenson took on the risk of Artem Harutyunyan and showed there are levels to this and the German prospect is not even close to that of the one-time Olympian.

What happened: Harutyunyan gave his best effort but the American was too fast and technical. Throughout their fight in Newark, New Jersey Stevenson nailed his foe with big shots to the body and shut down his offense en route to a unanimous decision victory.

The fallout: Stevenson was expected to win and he did so with ease. However, considering that he was such a big favorite, he needed to score a finish to bolster his case for bigger fights in 2024 and beyond. He was unable to do that and it likely hurt his chances for a money matchup next.

What’s next? While Gervonta Davis would be his preferred option, Stevenson is likely to get a ranked opponent in the back half of the lightweight top 10 for his next bout.

Shakur Stevenson is one of the bright young stars in the sport. Over his first 21 fights, he faced very few challenges and the WBC champion has quickly garnered a growing fan base as he rises up the division’s pecking order.

Along with young stars like Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis , Stevenson is one of the new faces of the lighter-weight classes.

    • Shakur Stevenson Record: 22-0 (10 KOs)
    • Shakur Stevenson age: 26-years-old
    • Shakur Stevenson began his career at bantamweight and represented the US in the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal at just 18 years old.
    • Even before he won an Olympic medal Stevenson was an elite prospect as he earned titles at the 2014 AIBA Youth World Championships and 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.
    • When he began his career in the professional ranks he fought mostly at featherweight, winning multiple titles including unifying all the belts at super featherweight.
    • During the first few years of his career, the young star has scored big wins over proven fighters like Joet Gonzalez, Jeremia Nakathila, and Oscar Valdez.
