McDonald's has announced the return of " everyone's favorite sandwich " to its menu, but it's only for a limited time. The fast-food titan has confirmed that the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the Smoky BLT Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese are making their much-anticipated return two years after they first hit the scene.

These mouth-watering offerings, available only while stocks last, boast a quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese, Applewood Smoked Bacon, tomato, shredded lettuce, and a "special, smoky BLT sauce" all nestled in a toasted sesame seed bun.

"Get ready to experience a sweet and tangy, savory garlic sauce that has a lingering smokiness," enthused the McDonald's Menu Spotter. From July 10, these tantalizing sandwiches will be up for grabs. With inflation pushing up prices on everything including Big Macs, McDonald's chiefs acknowledge their patrons are on the hunt for better value, reports the Mirror US .

A recent study showed that McDonald's had the fifth highest average meal price at $7.57, marking a 22 percent hike from 2022's $6.21, according to Fox 31. Topping the list was Five Guys, with an average meal cost of $20.84, up by 13.7 percent from the previous year. Back in June, the chain launched its limited-time $5 Meal Deal, aimed at offering customers a more wallet-friendly dining choice.

Meanwhile, McDonald's is set to revamp its menu, with some beloved items set to disappear . At the recent WSJ Global Food Forum, McDonald's US president Joe Erlinger announced that salads would not be making a comeback on the fast-food giant's menu due to lack of demand.

Salads first made their appearance on McDonald's menus in the United States in 1987. Since then, the salad offerings have been updated numerous times. In 2000, McDonald's launched McSalad Shakers , green salads sold in a plastic cup designed to fit in car cup holders. These were discontinued in 2003.

Following this, McDonald's introduced a line of Premium Salads as part of the McDonald's Premium line, later adding the Bacon Ranch Salad with Crispy Chicken and the Southwest Salad with Artisan Grilled Chicken.
