The heat index is currently greater than 100 degrees in Louisiana, but that won't stop us from going to a festival. Here's what's happening this weekend.

    Red River Balloon Rally - Bossier City - July 12 & 13

    8000 E Texas Street

Over 20 hot air balloons will decorate the skies for the Red River Balloon Rally. Each day there will be tethered balloon rides, live entertainment, a kids' zone, food, retail vendors, and the magical balloon glow at dusk.

    Musical guests include:

    • Hidden Tracks
    • Dirt Road Troubadours
    • Total Choice
    • The Hollow Decks

Admission is $5 for those over 5 years old.

Balloons Over DeSoto - Grand Cane - July 14

    211 Independence

On Sunday at 4:00 PM, the ballooning championship continues with the 8th annual Balloons Over DeSoto at C.E. "Rusty" Williams Airport in Mansfield. Food, music, tethered balloon rides, arts & crafts vendors, a balloon glow, and a fireworks display highlight the evening.

    This event is free.

San Fermin in Nueva Orleans - New Orleans - July 12, 13, 14

    545 St. Charles Avenue

The 18th annual Running of the Bulls celebration, San Fermin in Nueva Orleans, takes place at Gallier Hall.

    Daily events include:

    • El Txupinazo (Friday, July 12, 6:00PM to 9:00PM): live music and shananigans for those over 18
    • Running of the Bulls and Post-Run Fiesta (Saturday, July 13, 6:30AM to 12:00 PM): no live bulls, just roller derby skaters in disguise
    • La Fiesta de Pantalones (Saturday, July 13): an all-day party
    • El Pobre de Mi = Poor Me (Sunday, July 14, 11:30AM to 2:30PM): a post-SFNO burlesque brunch

    This is a ticketed event.

Bayou Motor Fest Car Show - Baton Rouge - July 13

    275 S River Road

Raising Cane's River Center Arena is the setting for the Bayou Motor Fest Car Show. General admission tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children. Hours are 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

    Juice Fest - Houma - July 14

    7856 West Main Street

A multi-cultural festival inspired by Louisiana's own Deejay Juice, Juice Fest is an admission-free festival connecting the art of music, food, family, and community. The fun begins at 4:00 PM in Courthouse Square.
