Three months ago, Finn Bálor announced on X that “I ain’t going nowhere,” indicating he had signed a new contract with WWE. And now, while appearing on the What’s The Story podcast, the Judgment Day member has revealed while discussing a potential match with Gunther that his contract extension was for five years. Therefore, he will be with the company until he is 47, which is no longer considered old for a pro wrestler, considering names like Bobby Lashley, Chris Jericho, Christian Cage, and Rey Mysterio have proven age is just a number.

“We sat down and had a couple of conversations, and the feelings were mutual. I wanted to stay, they wanted me to stay, we hashed it out, and I couldn’t be happier … I’ve got five years on my deal, so if we can get it done in the next five years.”

Bálor rose to fame in New Japan during an eight-year run with the promotion. However, he became a global star when he signed with WWE in 2014 and has since won virtually every championship open to him, including the inaugural WWE Universal Championship. Still, his time in the Judgment Day has taken him to a whole new level in terms of character development, and, therefore, it’s somewhat surprising that WWE even let his contract get close to expiry.
