In disappointing news, Michael Cole announced on Raw that Tyler Bate was set for a spell on the sidelines. And now the British pro wrestler has shared more details on Instagram , revealing that he has undergone surgery for a torn pectoral muscle. How long this will keep Bate out of the ring isn’t clear, but it seems doubtful he’ll wrestle again this year.

“Tore my left pectoral major & tendon off the bone last week at NXT. Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs. I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much. I’m in good spirits and looking forward to seeing you all again soon, lots of love, b i g s t r o n g b o i.”

27-year-old Bate holds the distinction of being the youngest singles champion in WWE history, winning the NXT United Kingdom Championship when aged just 19. From there, he became a focal point of WWE’s NXT UK brand before joining the full version of NXT. And while he began wrestling on SmackDown at the start of 2024, having established a tag team with Pete Dunne, known as the New Catch Republic, he is now officially part of Raw following the draft, although most recently, the duo had been wrestling on NXT.
