Woman Pranks Husband With Pink Paint and His Reaction Is Unexpected

We hope this TikToker has Elle Woods on speed dial, after a prank on her husband went totally wrong. The wife in question thought she would be funny by painting the couple's front door hot pink while her husband was at the gym. But, instead her plan totally backfired on her when he arrived home and immediately told her to change it back.

Despite knowing that the video's caption said "Hi. My husband filed for divorce today & here's why..." we had no idea what was going to happen next.

It would appear that @trulytorij_ fancies herself the "ask forgiveness rather than permission type," since she decided to paint the front door of the home she shares with her husband bright pink without first getting his okay.

She documented the entire process, including her nervous eating habits, while she waited for him to get home, where he kind of blew his top a bit. It seems like they had actually discussed giving the front door a bit of a makeover, but the hubby had agreed on a shade that was more berry than bubble gum, yikes!

Fortunately for us, it appears that the OP actually had a more in-depth conversation about the paint with her husband than she let on, revealing that the pair had even agreed that it would be okay to keep the paint on the door until after Halloween, since the OP says the color matches most of her holiday decor.

Well, that sounds like things weren't as dire as the use of the "D" word initially made it sound!

That being said, we don't think the OP should press her luck by trying to change up anything else in her house, especially when it comes to the home appliances that the pair will have to use ever day.

We're thinking something like what this woman did when she painted her washing machine might just put the OP's hubby right over the edge, so hopefully she gives him some time to get comfortable with the pink door before she tries to update any other areas within the home.

Now that we've had a chance to watch this video a few times, we think we're team pink door. Sure, it sounds like the husband wasn't fully on board with a bright pink makeover, but it does sound like he did give the go ahead for a color change, so maybe there's a little room for compromise here.
