HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) — Students in Cabell County have the opportunity to explore future careers in technical education.

The camp offers students experience in several fields including culinary arts, cosmetology, welding and even crime scene investigation.

“I wanted to do something different because I’ve never been to a summer camp before, or really anything over the summer before and I wanted to try something new.” said Kylie Napier, a participant in the camp this week.

Napier is participating in the hairstyling and crime scene investigation programs and insists she will be returning again next year.

The camp is free of charge for fifth- through eighth-grade students in Cabell County.

July 8 to 12 is for rising fifth and sixth graders and the following week is for rising seventh and eighth graders.

Students can choose from two of the career programs for the week.
