LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Remnants of Hurricane Beryl are barreling towards Michigan, and Livingston County is already seeing the impact.

The storm swept through Texas on Monday, causing four deaths and leaving more than 2.7 million without power.

The storm first hit Jamaica, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Granadines last week and at least 11 people were killed in Mexico and the Caribbean before the storm reached Texas, according to USA Today.

Heavy rains beginning Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday are expected to cause flash flooding. Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are all expected to be affected by flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

Events like Rock the Block in Howell have already been canceled in anticipation of the storm.

The National Weather Service said residents should monitor the forecast and those living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take action.
