KTLA reporter Sam Rubin cause of death revealed after being rushed to hospital

Sam Rubin's cause of death has been revealed.

He was urgently taken by ambulance from his home to a Los Angeles hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the age of 64 on May 10.

The TV news station broke the news on Tuesday, July 9 on their social media. The post captioned: "Beloved KTLA 5 News entertainment anchor Sam Rubin died from a heart attack brought on by coronary artery disease, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed on Tuesday.

The post continued: "Rubin, 64, went to a hospital with stomach pain on the morning of May 10 after calling 911. He was pronounced dead in the emergency room shortly after 11 a.m. In its report, the Medical Examiner said Rubin suffered from “ischemic heart disease due to atherosclerotic coronary artery disease."

As for the cause of death, the renowned anchor died from a heart attack brought on by coronary artery disease, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has informed KTLA 5.

Sam's heart stopped due to "lack of blood and oxygen" and the manner of death was "natural." According to the news station, the full medical examiner report is to be expected to release by the end of the week.

The KTLA entertainment reporter joined the team in 1991. He was also known for hosting Hollywood Uncensored. Sam had been a correspondent for This Morning in the UK, giving insights and gossip from a studio in Hollywood. His death was mourned by millions in the journalism world as well as viewers around the world.

Sam is survived by his wife, Leslie, and his children, Perry, Rory, Darcy and Colby.
