Assemblymember Jim Patterson on Tuesday presented the Marjaree Mason Center (MMC) and its CEO, Nicole DiBuduo Linder, with separate honors. Linder was named Woman of the Year for Patterson’s 8th Assembly District. The Marjaree Mason Center was named Nonprofit of the Year.
Before Linder’s position as CEO for MMC, she was senior development officer at Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation, responsible for securing philanthropic support for Valley Children’s Healthcare. Before that, she served Fresno Pacific University for 11 years in various director-level positions within fund development.
“In addition to this recognition, I want to publicly thank you for supporting Marjaree Mason Center,” said Linder, “both locally and at the state level. You co-signed and supported legislation that has and will continue to protect victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.”
The nonprofit was also recognized for the support it continues to have for women and victims of human trafficking. Patterson pledged an additional $3,000 for the new center in Northwest Fresno.
Linder praised the work of her MMC staff that continues to be recognized by public and private partners in their mission to help families.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire staff, volunteers, including my fellow board members and supporters far and wide who tirelessly strive to fulfill our mission every day in combating domestic violence in our community,” said Marjaree Mason Center Board President Kerri Horn.
Horn shared that the award reaffirms the commitment to making a meaningful impact in Fresno County and breaking generational cycles of abuse.
Supporters can pledge and donate to continue supporting the impact Marjaree Mason Center continues to strive for at mmcenter.org.
