John Corbett Says He’d Spend the Rest of His Life Acting With Sarah Jessica Parker: ‘There Is Something About This Girl’

John Corbett, who portrayed Aidan Shaw on Sex and the City and later reprised the role in And Just Like That…, is making headlines for his thoughts on acting. The 63-year-old actor recently appeared on a podcast and said he found his job as an actor “unfulfilling” because he’s not a part of the creative process. Despite his feelings, John Corbett did say he’d happily spend his days acting with Sarah Jessica Parker .

John Corbett recently appeared on Fly on the Wall , a podcast hosted by David Spade and Dana Carvey. The famed actor insists he’s reached the fourth quarter of his career. He said he’s not exactly fulfilled by how he has made his money. Corbett described spending time on the set as boring and said that because he’s often the second or third “banana” on a project, he is never a part of the creative process. Still, he’s managed to find some bright spots.

John Corbett might find being on the set a bit monotonous, but it doesn’t sound like he plans to hang up his acting shoes anytime soon. Corbett revealed the one actor with whom he would be willing to work for the rest of his life.

Corbett told Spade and Carvey that if he had to pick one actor to work with for the rest of his life, it would be Sarah Jessica Parker. He called Parker “the best” before insisting that there is just “something about that girl.”

While Corbett might not get his wish to act with Parker for the rest of his career, he’ll do it for at least one more season. He is set to reprise his role as Aidan Shaw in And Just Like That… season 3. Ahead of filming in May, Parker revealed that Corbett’s character would factor heavily into season 3 of the Sex and the City reboot.

Aidan’s season two return elated some fans. Still, they were largely disappointed when he told Carrie they had to spend the next five years apart during the season finale. While five years certainly haven’t passed in And Just Like That… Corbett has been spotted on set. What that means for his romance with Parker’s character is anyone’s guess. Parker, as Carrie Bradshaw, was spotted dining with Jonathan Cake , who was added to the cast earlier this month. Fans think romance is in the air for Carrie and the yet-unnamed character.

Season 3 of And Just Like That.. . is set to premiere in 2025. Filming is underway in New York City right now. Max has yet to announce an official premiere date. Season 1 premiered in 2021. Season 2 followed in 2023.
