Unfortunately, Lopez and Affleck are sparking breakup rumors in 2024. Insiders alleged that the couple can’t communicate effectively, and their divorce is imminent.

So, what does Lopez’s family think? Lopez adores her family and said in past interviews that she prioritizes family above all else. An insider told DailyMail.com that Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez , 78, wants Lopez to leave Affleck once and for all. The source said that Rodríguez believes Affleck decided to “throw in the towel” on his marriage to her daughter when he should’ve fought to save the relationship.

“Jennifer’s mom told her, ‘Cut your losses and move on to avoid getting any deeper in this mess,'” the insider alleged. “She told her that she’s wasted years believing that Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor.”

The source added that Lopez’s sisters, Leslie Ann and Lynda Lopez, also want her to divorce Affleck so she can focus on her children and career.

“Jennifer currently feels like Ben does not deserve her, and her sisters agree,” the source added. “They want Jennifer to be happy, of course, but they feel their sister is getting so caught up in what it was supposed to be that she isn’t seeing it for what it is now. They want her to file for divorce first and get on with her life — focus on her kids and career.”

Lopez was on the talk show with her mother then and didn’t delve further into her mother’s statement. However, she reflected on what her mom said to Entertainment Tonight .

“It’s so funny; she never said that to me,” Lopez said with a laugh. “We never spoke about it.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez might’ve already privately signed divorce papers to end their marriage. Jacqueline Newman, a managing partner at the matrimonial law firm Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, shared in a statement to Showbiz Cheat Sheet that the couple dropped “hints” that their marriage is over.

“If it is, in fact, over, I would bet that the terms are already worked out and the papers are already signed,” Newman said. “The actual legal part of the divorce will be easy, as they undoubtedly have a tight prenuptial agreement, and it was a short-term marriage. It is the court to public opinion which will be the tougher divorce.”
