IOC Rules Joost Luiten Unable To Play In Olympics

In a whirlwind of a week, Dutch golfer Joost Luiten once again finds himself on the outside looking in for the Olympic games. Luiten, 38, previously sued the Dutch Olympic committee when it ruled he was "not good enough to compete for a medal.' However, he qualified for the event through OWGR points.

The court later ruled in Luiten's favor . Stating that the Dutch committee had until 5 pm to reinstate him on the Olympic roster. That's where it became extremely unfortunate for Luiten.

IOC Gave Luiten's Spot Away Already

Today the news broke that the IOC had already filled the vacancy already left by Luiten. A petition was entered to include Luiten and make a 61-player event. In the end, the motion was denied.

Luiten quickly took to social media today to voice his displeasure with the ruling. And missing out on the opportunity to represent his country.
