LOGAN, WV (WOWK) — To give back to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country, a ribbon was cut Tuesday for a major housing project in Logan that will help veterans in need.

Located in the downtown area of Logan, 33 affordable, family-friendly apartments are now readily available for veterans and families of veterans. Options include one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

13 News talked with one veteran who helped make it all possible.

“Vietnam and Desert Storm, participate in both of those events and to come back to Logan and to be able to help my town, my county, my area of the state, to do something like this is just heart warming,” said Roger Ramey, retired U.S. Air Force.

This is the second set of apartments built for veterans in need in Logan. Plans are in place to build another one in the fall. If there is room to spare, additional rooms will be offered to people with disabilities.
