More heat and thundershowers for some

Wednesday's Weather Headline: Heat indices in the 100s continue this week with spotty rain chances bringing some heat relief at least. Tropics still nice and quiet. Read on for more details.

What we're tracking: High pressure continues moving towards the Central United States by later this week bringing back another heat wave. Weather stays pretty consistent for a couple days with hot and humid conditions and afternoon showers and weak thunderstorms possible. No severe weather is expected.

Next 24 hours: Highs in the 90s for all continue with some out west reaching near 100 possibly today. Rain chances today remain at 40% for scattered thunderstorms possible some time after 3 p.m. bumping up to 50% tomorrow as thundershowers develop in the later morning going into the afternoon. Heat indices as high as 108 will be possible today especially in Victoria County, cooling just a tad tomorrow.

Extended forecast: Average summer weather pushes on for the next week with highs for most in the 90s with some luckily seeing upper 80s instead.
