Vinton County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee met July 9 — here are notes from EMA Director Bill Fraught about that meeting.

Meeting Called to Order: 12:07pm

Attendance for the Meeting: William Faught, John Eckelberry, Jeff Woodrum, Mike Abele, Jim Shiveley, Mike Woodruff, Mark Peters, Mike Sickles, Matt Kight and two very special quest Lorie Mount-OEMA and Dan Endrizzi from OEMA.

Motion to Pass last quarters minutes: Motion made by Eckelberry and seconded by Shiveley with a vote of 9 in favor and 0 oppose

HAZMAT Plan

We are requesting a NO-Change recommendation to the state SERC for our HAZMAT Plan

Motion made by Eckelberry and second by Kight with a vote of 9 in favor and 0 oppose.

Training, Exercise and Planning:

Requested funding for a HAZMAT Plan update and a Training for Awareness and Operation Level training. FY-2022 -Year#3 was opened on the first of March and closed on March 15, 2024.

Prices Training -Wellston FD: 1,500.00

Plan Update: RDI Solutions: 2,750.00

FINANCIAL: Grant Oversight

It is that time of year again to show the SERC our financial status. I have completed the documentation to send into the state so we can receive our grant.

Motion made by Kight and seconded by Abele with a vote of 9 in favor and 0 oppose.

Pipeline Exercise:

The Athens County EMA and I are currently working on a training /exercise at the Albany Kinder Morgan Plant. This will be more on training and going over that pressure station safety as well as some good pipeline safety. All FD will be invited from our county. We meet on April 3, 2024, and made final preparation for the exercise /training meeting on Saturday October 12, 2024, starting at 9am.
